Clearly defined goals can help guide a company to success.  It’s certainly worked for Apple’s design team.  DaVinci Business Graphics takes a look at the goals of Apple’s designers.

Apple—the company behind such products as the iPod, the iPhone, the iPad, and basically every other popular, high-end consumer electronics product—knows exactly what to do when designing new products.  When designing a new product, Apple lives by two very simple goals: keep the design as simple as possible and design each product well enough that the user can’t possibly imagine it looking any other way.

Seems clear enough.  Apple’s design chief, Jony Ive, explains it this way: “Our goal is to try to bring a calm and simplicity to what are incredibly complex problems so that you’re not aware really of the solution, you’re not aware of how hard the problem was that was eventually solved.” “We try to develop products that seem somehow inevitable. That leave you with the sense that that’s the only possible solution that makes sense.”  He also went on to say that.

With two clearly defined goals guiding Apple’s design team, their department remains focused and efficient.  When every part of a business understands individual and team goals, those goals become easier to attain.
